But this calling is not abstract theology. It demands personal identification and faithful obedience. Rooted in Christ as the Builder and Keeper of His Church, and anchored in Ephesians 4, this episode explores what it means to walk worthy of our vocation. We examine identity, unity, maturity, endurance, and the seriousness of belonging to the body of Christ. This is not something we attend. It is who we are.

In this episode, we answer a question that has shaped centuries of theological debate: If two people hear the same gospel and only one believes, why? Is the difference an eternal decree, or does Scripture give us another explanation? We walk carefully through the words of Jesus, the apostles, and the broader testimony of Scripture. Looking closely at the Parable of the Sower, Matthew 13, John 3, Romans 10, and more, we examine what the Bible actually says about hearing, believing, resisting, and responding to truth. In Episode 1, we introduced the foundation of this series by affirming that the Church is part of God’s eternal purpose. We briefly touched on what the Church is and why her identity matters. In this episode, we slow down and expound that truth. What does Scripture actually mean by “the Church”? Is it a building, an institution, or something far deeper? We examine the biblical meaning of the Church as the called out ones, the living body of Christ, born through the Spirit and belonging entirely to Him. Before we can understand the Church’s calling, we must clearly understand her identity. This episode lays that groundwork, clarifying what the Church is not, and reaffirming what she truly is in the heart and purpose of God.

In this opening episode of The Church and Her Calling, we lay the foundation for the entire series. What is the Church? Why does she exist? Is she a religious institution, a gathering of like minded people, or something eternal in the heart of God? Before we can discuss her mission, structure, or function, we must understand her origin. The Church was not man’s idea. She was born in the eternal purpose of God, secured by the blood of Christ, and brought to life by the Spirit. This episode establishes the premise for everything that follows.

In this episode, we conclude our study on election, foreknowledge, and predestination by examining the claims of Calvinism and the TULIP system in light of Scripture. Does regeneration precede faith? Are sinners unable to respond to the gospel unless first made alive? Is grace irresistible? We walk through Ephesians, Titus, John, and Acts to examine what the apostles actually taught about election, human responsibility, and the order of salvation. Salvation is not rooted in arbitrary decree, but in God’s eternal purpose in Christ. And Scripture consistently presents faith as the means by which we receive life. Election is about God’s redemptive plan in Christ.
