How Should Christians Think About Voting? E088•2026

In this episode of Uncommon Christianity, we take a clear and biblical look at a question many believers struggle with: Should Christians vote? While America is not the Kingdom of God, we still live in a world where leadership affects everyday life, the stability of society, and even the environment in which the gospel is preached. So how should we think about our role? Drawing from passages like 1 Timothy 2, Romans 13, and Jeremiah 29, we explore the command to pray for those in authority, and what that means in practical terms. If we are praying for conditions that allow us to live quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and honesty, should that shape how we think when we have the opportunity to participate? This is not about political parties or placing hope in men. It is about thinking as Christians, discerning direction, and acting with a clear conscience in a fallen world. We are not choosing a savior. We are walking in responsibility.
